In 1993 he moved to France to supervise post-production and the final delivery of these shows. Winthrop left Jetlag to work for MGM Animation where he remained for 4 ½ years. There he had the opportunity to produce many projects including the TV series The Pink Panther, All Dogs Go to Heaven and Robocop; direct-to-video features Babes in Toyland and The Secret of NIMH 2: Timmy to the Rescue; and an All Dogs Go to Heaven theatrical feature. Additionally at MGM, Winthrop directed several episodes of Robocop and a video special of The Rainbow Fish (for Sony Wonder). He also went abroad again, spending many months supervising animation for MGM in Taiwan, Korea and Thailand. In 1998, Winthrop moved to New York joining Stretch Films to produce the Courage the Cowardly Dog series for Cartoon Network. In addition to his producer duties, Winthrop acted as chief executive officer at the inception of Stretch Films. His responsibilities included generating all deals and contracts, coordinating accounting procedures and overall production system for series. After completing Courage, he returned to Los Angeles where he was the CG Director on the WB network’s 3D animated series, Max Steel. Currently Winthrop is a producer and head of production at SD Entertainment where he has remained for more than 6 years producing both traditional 2D and CGI projects. TV projects include Make Way for Noddy for Chorion IP, Alien Racers for MGA Entertainment and Care Bears for American Greetings. Direct to Video projects include Noddy Saves Christmas and Noddy and the Magical Moondust for Chorion IP, Bratz Babyz for MGA Entertainment, Care Bears Oopsy Does it for American Greetings, Dinotopia: The Quest for the Ruby Sunstone for Hallmark Entertainment and My Little Pony, Tonka and Candyland for Hasbro Toy Company. |
