http://www.pbn.com/contentmgr/showdetails.php/id/117057 October 3, 2005 - Hasbro brings 'My Little Pony' brand to big screen Hasbro Properties Group, the intellectual property development arm of Pawtucket-based toy maker Hasbro Inc., has brought its "My Little Pony" brand to the big screen with the Oct. 1 release an animated film featuring one of the line's prized ponies, Minty, the company announced in a Sept. 29 statement. "My Little Pony: A Very Minty Christmas" will be screened in theaters across the country from Oct. 1 to Oct. 23. The 44-minute animated movie, a Kidtoon Films production and distributed by Paramount Home Entertainment, will be available on DVD and VHS on Oct. 25, the company said. "The My Little Pony brand continues to grow on a national and global basis, and reaches an even broader audience with the addition of entertainment," said Bryony Bouyer, senior vice president for the Hasbro Properties Group, in a statement. Since reintroducing My Little Pony to the U.S. marketplace in 2003, Hasbro has brought 20 million ponies to the market and sold eight million My Little Pony books. The company's signature brands include Monopoly, G.I. Joe and Transformers, according to the statement. |
